Black Pantheron
This design is a tribute to Chadwick Boseman, and the original Black Panthers. The focal point of the design is centered around the main founding member of the party Huey P. Newton, the actor Chadwick Boseman, and other famous members of the Black Panther party.
The title of the design ‘Black Pantheron’ is a combination of the Greek word Pantheon (panθɪən), and the phrase ‘Black Panther’. A Pantheon is ‘a group of particularly respected, famous, or important people, or all the gods of a people or religion collectively’. The overall concept is themed around the black and purple colour scheme from the Black Panther movie and outer space, immortalizing the individuals in the celestial heavens, like gods in a pantheon.
The famous picture of Huey P Newton seated in a chair with a rifle, spear, and Zulu shields, is used as the centerpiece. The picture of Chadwick Boseman was also conveniently placed at the center in front of Huey P Newton, symbolizing him as the new Black Panther of this era, other members of the black panther party were added afterwards.
At the top left corner is a picture of Bobby Seale, top center is the image of an actual black panther, top right corner is Assata Shakur, left is Eldridge Cleaver (below Seale), right is Stokely Carmichael (below Shakur), bottom left is Angela Davis, bottom Center is Mumia Abu Jamal, and bottom right is Fred Hampton.
The pictures were found using the google chrome search engine. All pictures except for Chadwick Boseman’s are black and white. I added a black and white effect to make his picture blend in with the overall colour concept of black and white, with hues, tint, tones, and shades of purple.
A black and purple picture of the galaxy is used as the background, keeping with the theme/concept. To complete the design the text ‘Black Pantheron’ was added using the font style from the movie’s main title. The fonts used are Wolfsbane, and Benyo (the official font of the 2018 movie).
